Ghostface, Anna Faris, and the Wayans Bros Just Turned Times Square Into a Giant Hotbox

If you walked through Times Square this week and thought you were hallucinating, you’re not alone.

Tourists, New Yorkers, and confused passersby stopped in their tracks after spotting a giant glass box sitting in the middle of one of the busiest intersections in the world. Inside? The cast of Scary Movie 6.

What started as a mystery quickly turned into one of the most bizarre movie promotions of the year.

The massive transparent structure became home to cast members, including Anna Faris, the Wayans brothers, and even Ghostface himself, who spent the event watching the original Scary Movie while embracing the chaotic energy that made the franchise a cultural phenomenon in the first place.

As crowds gathered around the installation, trying to figure out what was happening, social media exploded with videos of fans pressing against the glass, filming reactions, and laughing as Ghostface repeatedly yelled the iconic “WAZZZUP?!” catchphrase at pedestrians outside.

For a few surreal hours, Times Square felt less like 2026 and more like a time machine back to the early 2000s.

The stunt arrives as Scary Movie 6 prepares to hit theaters on June 5, marking the franchise’s return 26 years after the original film debuted in 2000. The first movie became an instant pop culture landmark, parodying horror films while helping define an entire generation of comedy.

In an entertainment landscape dominated by carefully curated press tours and predictable marketing campaigns, the giant glass hotbox felt refreshingly ridiculous. There was no deep message. No cinematic universe tease. No overly serious brand activation.

Just a group of actors, a giant glass box, thousands of fans, and enough nostalgia to transport an entire city block back to the era of flip phones, MTV, and quoting Scary Movie with your friends at lunch.

Honestly, that’s probably exactly what the franchise would have wanted.

Scary Movie 6 arrives in theaters on June 5.
